Constantly Remind Yourself Of Your Vision.

Technology is an amazing field that has forever altered how we as human beings live our individual and collective lives. When we consider the impact of the technological advances in medicine, transportation, communication, print-media, military defense, recreation and entertainment, we can easily become overwhelmed.

The future of technology in entertainment and media is limited only by our imagination. This field will continue to grow in an exponential manner, which will create hundreds of new realities and potentially thousands of new jobs.

It is my desire to be on the cusp or cutting edge of this growth and development of technology in entertainment and media. My contribution within it will be to put forth and employ my intense passion, intellect, skills, time, and best efforts in this incredible of field of endeavor. Though I have done much to obtain knowledge in the entertainment and media technology area; I recognize that I must continue to equip myself with the best education available in this field. I have assessed and concluded that Full Sail University both meets and exceeds the informational and hands-on knowledge-based experience that I need in order to excel in this area.

Technology is forever changing; from televisions with large glass picture tubes to slim and sleek LED smart television with processors that allow us to access a variety of media through the Internet. We can now maneuver through the labyrinth of channels and networks to find the entertainment in multiple categories, and view it in stunning HD quality on our Smart phones, tablets, and computers.

We are easily connected to electronic entertainment avenues that bring us the latest SNL skits or the next ridiculous viral craze. Technology is forever evolving and pushing the limits of reality and stunning our imagination and senses. At the 2012 Coachella concert, technology really flexed its muscles by resurrecting one of the world’s most well-known figures using 3D holography. You could feel the disbelief of the crowd as you yourself looked on amazement. This was a true wonder created by the technology I want to be a part of.

It is my desire to be a creative force in this ever expanding and growing industry. I anticipate that I will contribute in a very effective manner in regard to electronic marketing. This will include devising innovative ways of promoting the latest movies, books, or other products. I will fuse these promotions with advanced electronic versions of graphic art that works synergistically to bring these products to life. These techniques will be enhanced with video and audio editing processes that will culminate in establishing a future tech entertainment and media advertising corporation. It will be a corporation that will continue to be electronically savvy, with the latest improvements, advances and innovations in its field. My goal is to not merely use technology, but to be at the vanguard of creating the technology that will generate and produce futuristic growth that will push and drive advances in entertainment and media technology.

Artist Development

Well another project in the works! My brother from another mother and business partner, McKinley Hardy has landed a great opportunity for Envisible Empire. There will be a show airing on the lifetime network January 1st. Executive producers include Queen Latifah and Jermaine Dupri. The program is called “The Rap Game” this show will be nationally televised.

One of the young contestants “Supa Peach” has signed a preliminary agreement with our new startup company Envisible Empire to producer her first single "Do What You Want". Along with this agreement we will also be responsible for the over all branding and media treatments for this single. This will be a huge undertaking so it’s all hands on deck. The single will be released soon after the first season of the show ends. So stayed tuned for updates in the progress of this up and coming project. We are going to enjoy the journey and would like to share the experience with you.

Working On A Feature Film.

For years I have always wanted to film and edit a featured film of my own, but you have to crawl before you walk right. Well it's a good thing that I have the opportunity to crawl first. Since the last week in November I have been working on the post-production crew for this feature film called the Emigrant produced by Henry Sosa and directed by Alejandro Santiago Ciena. It's a film about a young Haitian kid who lives through the 2010 earthquake that devastated Haiti. The film is beautifully shot and has a great story. Make sure you view the trailer.

During the short time working on this project I have learned a lot about pre-production. Even though I am working on the post-production end. There are many factors that you have to take into account when filming a large production like this. Especially on a low end budget.  You really don't know what to expect as a first time filmmaker. I am so grateful to be part of a production like this. It has allowed me to observe what mistakes not to make, and what to do right.

Now I know what to expect when we start filming the move "Dead Serious" for Envisible Empire and Making the Frat: The Old School for WIJAH publishing. I know this blog post seems like the ramblings of an exited wet be hind the ears new comer to the film industry. But that is not it at all. My experience and hard work has brought me to this point and I have much more to learn and skills to acquire. When you have passion for what you do as a profession you are always seeking to expand your skill sets in order to perfect that profession. You will never stop learning. Till the next post keep being creative.

Never Judge A Book By Its Cover?

Never judge a book by it’s cover is an old saying that rings true in most cases, but when it comes to the overwhelming assault on our senses this is far from the truth. When marketing a product in this day and age perception plays a key factor in the buying process. We have two round things in our head that allow us to see. We are more inclined to engage with a product if the visual aesthetics peak our interests. For a designer this can be very difficult because everyone has a different perception on what they like to see.

There are many factors that determine what we like and dislike. For example, age, education, gender, location, income, upbringing, nationality just to name a few. These many factors have to be considered when designing for a project or client. Once you become familiar with your product you have to then study what the target market maybe. As a designer I can't just put some images on the product and hope it reaches people. I have to research the audience that I'm designing for and this takes time.

So back to the title, when we go into a bookstore or look at books online the first thing your eyes see is the cover. If you are looking for a good autobiography more than likely you will pick up the book that has a great graphical representation of the subject rather than a typographical graphic. We are first attracted to images case in point some of the oldest forms of written language was that of images. Ancient Mayans, ancient Egyptian all used graphic symbols to communicate. So it's fair to say that we as the human race like visualization as a key component to communicate.

The reason for this blog entry is to let clients know that there is more work that goes into the production of your project other than just concept development. As designers we research your project in depth to come up with something that will represent you, your brand, your ideology, and your target market. We want people to judge the book by its cover because it is the first impression or the first contact experience they will have with you. Don't settle for less, key word here is less because is if you settle for less, less is what you will sell and the less you will reach in this day and age of perception. Till the next post keep being creative.
